November 2010 SAT - Writing

Does anyone know if -4 to -6 with a 12 on the essay will project to be?

I was completely confident in my essay, but found particular questions in both the 25min and 10min ones difficult.

Is that maybe a 750+, or am I being way too hopeful?

@jonmrcool I remember that question, what about it?

im not too sure… i think thats my current situation too. i might have gotten a 10 (i made amazing points i think, but maybe one example was too “weird?” but i hope they look over it and comment on my analysis more than example and give me the 11/12 that i want!)

i also think i missed -4/-6… i found the last section (the 10 min. one extremely difficult got majority right, but still it made me skip two (or one) questions and i felt horrible.

@jonmrcool
yeah it was something like:
talking about the narrow roads of oakton immensely surprised me or something like that.
dont remember exact wording, but it was something like that?

Phew had the echolocation test, and had 3 NE like people have confirmed
So I might have gotten perfect MC and 10-11 essay :D

I’m worried about my essay, does anyone know if they deduct points for having a short essay. My essay was 3 paragraphs long, an intro body and conclusion, but it barely filled the first page. Even though my writing is small, i can’t say i wrote a bunch…i had an awkward interpretation of the prompt and so i went back to change my intro. Is it safe to say that my highest possible score will be < 6

Theres a good chance it might. Essay grading is largely based on length and strength of argument.

I just took the November SAT test(1st time) and I was shocked at how hard it acutally was. I went in with plenty of practice and I still had a hard time. I used Princeton Review and College Board. I felt like the practice tests were alot easier than the real thing. i guess that makes sense because 2+2 is not 4 under pressure. I haven’t received my scores yet but I feel like I will need to retake it in May and then maybe one more time. Is 3 times too many??
Thanks.

hatwe9,

I cannot exactly say that you did NOT get less than a 6.
I took the SAT in Oct. this year, confounded with the unhealthy mixture of anxiety and basically freaking out about the prompt, I did horrible on the essay. My argument did not make any sense to me, I was on my way to finish my first and last body paragraph (lol), and wrote only one line on the second page when the proctor called time.

But that flopsy thesis, no-conclusion type of essay got a 7. :D

So, even though i can’t guarantee it, I can personally say that I don’t think you’re going to get less than a 6.

for the writing sat that had the echolocation passage. It was section 2 number 28, the anwer choice i chose was NE, and one of the choices were “would”. What did u guys put?

I just remember stupid things, and one of them was that 26-29 went EBDE. There was an idiomatic error on that one or 27, where it was adhere to not by
