Hey guys,
Barnard is my dream school and I am applying early decision, but I am, of course, quite worried about my acceptance. My SAT scores are not good - 1970 - and I wanted to increase my score by taking them again in November to hopefully break 2000. Although the Barnard website says they accept November scores, I checked and the scores will not be released until a full 9 days after the application is due. I have indicated I am sitting for the test on my common app, but I was worried as to whether my application may be thrown out before I have a chance to submit those scores. Or if they will have already accepted the majority of their class by that time which would make it harder for me to be accepted. Sorry, I know these seem like ramblings but I am just very nervous and wanted some input Also, just as a side note, I got the highest score on the writing section, which I know colleges don’t look at that much, I have no clue if anyone hear could provide some insight but - does Barnard even look at the writing score or consider it in evaluating the applicant?? Thank you!

I actually know the answer to this question because I am taking the SAT subject tests again in November. I e-mailed the Barnard Admissions office and they replied with this:
“Thank you for your interest in Barnard College! We will accept the November SAT scores as part of the ED application. Just be sure to mark on the exam itself that you would like the scores automatically sent to Barnard and mark on your application the date that you are sitting for the exams.”

I hope this is helpful…

Yes it is very helpful, thank you so much!!
