<p>I ran NPC and got about $25,000 net cost for Amherst.
This is about $5,000 more than Williams’ and $4,000 more than Swarthmore and Pomona’s net cost from their NPC. Anyone got this similar results?</p>
<p>When I did the NPC for us Amherst and Swarthmore were within a few hundred dollars of each other. Our Amherst npc was 16000. Williams & Pomoma were very close to each other and about 3000 above Amherst and Swat.</p>
<p>I think it is also worth noting that 70 percent of Amherst students who request additional financial aid after their first offer receive more aid.</p>
<p>Where does that number come from? (I have trouble believing that the financial aid department at Amherst would have such an easy time admitting that they do such a poor job figuring out need-based aid the first time around. If this is true, some heads should roll.)</p>
