NRI applying to some top US universities

Hey there!
I’m an Indian in 11th grade living in the UAE; I’ll be applying to American colleges next year for Fall’17. I will be taking up CS and the colleges I’ll be applying to include MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Cornell, CMU, UIUC, UCLA and Georgia Tech.
Given below is my profile:
Academics:
SAT: 2200 (M-800;W-760;CR-640)
SAT Subject Tests: Will be giving them soon. Going by statistics, most people of my caliber achieve 800s in Physics, Chemistry and Math Level 2 on their first attempt.
APs: I don’t think I’m giving any this year.
Grade 9: CGPA 10.0
Grade 10: CGPA 10.0
(My GPA will be 9.5/10- highest achievable GPA in the Indian system for Grade 9 and Grade 10)
Grade 11: 94%
(Indian system get stringent for Grade 11 and 12. The top 2-3% students achieve 93-95%)
Rank: 1/315 or 2/315
I have received two community awards, a merit certificate from the Govt., and an appreciation letter from the Education Minister of India for outstanding performance.

ECs:

Olympiads/National/International contests:
-Delegate at the EcoCity World Summit held in Abu Dhabi in 2015.
-Sastra Prathibha ( a national science competition involving five rounds: a written exam, an interview, a quiz, a picture identification test, and a scientific reasoning test): Won this competition by achieving first place (in my category). Previously, I have received an A+ (only fifty students get this grade in the country).
-Recently participated in the World Robot Olympiad (UAE Level). Got to the second round, but didn’t win after that. (Very high hopes on this competition for next year- very good chance of representing UAE in the World Robot Olympiad 2016)
-The Green Olympiad: Scored in range 70%-80%.
-National Environmental Quiz
-TMS Environmental Debate: It’s an international event. (Attending it in the near future)
-Few National Speaking Competitions
-International Benchmark Test conducted by ACER: Numerous High Distinctions and Distinctions.
-Giving the Zonal Computing Olympiad soon. There’s no opportunity for me to give Indian Olympiad exams here. UAE doesn’t participate either.

Local activities (school, community, city etc.):
-Current Vice-President of the Debate Club (will become President next year). Avid debater. Participated and won in numerous competitions.
-President/Secretary of the Eco-Club. (Badge holders are selected only from Grade 12). Active participant in school. Leader of the Outreach Program. I currently lead a team of six juniors; our objective is to spread environmental awareness in the schools and community. We have already conducted a big seminar in which 6 schools participated.
-Winner of a competition conducted by the Environmental Agency, Abu Dhabi.
-Vice-Captain of school (will become a Prefect next year)
-Black belt holder in Karate; teach children at local karate club.
-Member of Toastmasters International. Won 6+ trophies in city contest and 10+ trophies in my club.
-Winner in elocution competitions in school and outside.

My school is the most competitive CBSE school. Academic and extra-curricular competitiveness is very high.

I’d be glad if you could chance me for the above mentioned universities.

Your marks are excellent. Most US universities consider above 80% as good and for the universities that you have applied, above 90% is great. Make sure you do as well in the mid year exams of class 12.

Your extra curriculars are outstanding too. It’s great that you’ve participated in the Olympiads. Your SAT is pretty good, you may want to increase your score for your list of Universities though. Also, make sure you write a good essay.

Keep in mind that Harvard, MIT, Stanford and Princeton are reach colleges for everyone including you despite your great ECs and academics.

I would say UCB and Cornell are somewhere between match and reach although it’s more towards the match side. CMU, UCLA and Georgia Tech are match. UIUC is definitely a safety, especially due to it’s higher acceptance rate.

Are you in ADIS btw?

@InfiniteLibrary
Thanks for the motivation! Glad to say that I increased my SAT/ACT score - I recently scored a 35C on the ACT!
Got 97% for mid-terms too!

@derpro - great stats and achievements. But Ivies and selective colleges are a far reach for Internationals due to limited intake. You may want to apply to some backup schools, just in case.

@derpro
No problem
I agree with Med SciBud. I don’t think it’s all that necessary, but applying to 1 more safety university might be safest. Also, will you be applying for financial aid?

P.S. 97% in CBSE? Woah. I must ask your secrets to success
