<p>I couldn't be more pleased about this.
I am a devoted Yankees fan and started saying that I hoped Girardi would be the post-Torre manager back in '99-'00, long before I had the remotest idea that my kid would go to NU.
As much as I like Torre, I had thought it was time for a change for the last four years.</p>
