I got into arts and science for both schools, majoring in biology, planning on going pre-med. I know they're both really good schools, but I've never visited either and I don't think I will have the time to. Please give me some suggestions/opinions. Tell me why Northwestern is a good school (or WashU if you prefer).

Honestly, even as a Wash U waitlistee I'd go with Wash U for premed interests- they're huge in anything health related.

NU is better.

Northwestern

I like NU better, but WUSTL is definitely a good school

both are hard academically, so if you want to do med school later, you'll need to really tank it hard to get a good GPA

yeah you really cant go wrong with either
I'm currently trying to decide between the two myself but I'm leaning towards Northwestern for my own reasons

Ugh, i got waitlisted at both. If I were you and had your interests, i'd choose WashU. I also like WashU's campus architecture more, but NW's location...good luck! I'm jealous. Big Time Jealous.

I'd go to NU for its location. Who doesn't like Chicago??

NU because of Chicago. I've kind of lived here the past two and a half years (for breaks, anyway) in the entertainment district, and it's only the best city EVER. Super walkable, the public transport is really good, the museums and shopping and food are all amazing.

Also, NU has quarters, which I really like because you don't generally take 5 courses, and you get to take more courses than in a semester system.
I'm sure the academics at both are comparable. I got into both, and if I don't get into an Ivy/Stanford, I'm going to NU.

scribbler you and i are essentially the same this far into the admissions process haha
NU vs. Wash U, and waiting on Ivy league schools
but USC and UCLA do look promising for engineering..

As a WUSTL Waitlistee, and an NU rejection, I'd say NU. Never been to NU but chicago seems like a much better place than StLouis.

So I have no bias, and even if I did, it would probably be against NU since I got rejected, but I'd still say go there.

I’d go with Wash U. The atmosphere is much nicer, you have the big city within a few miles without feeling enclosed as well. They’re top-notch schools, but from the experience I had when visiting WUSTL was more enjoyable.

Best advice is to visit both - hopefully you’ll be able to get a feel for the school and the students.
