This survey that I found has left me feeling a bit worried. My plan was initially to simply put all of my social media profiles to private, but on this survey, it appears that a lot of employers actually use social media to find reasons they SHOULD hire you, so it could maybe hinder my job search to put everything private?
Do employers really look at your social media and if so, how far back?
So, I think it would be easy enough to just hide like albums and etc. that are not “employer friendly” (for facebook, I mean).
Depending on which social media you use, go through your most recent tweets and IG posts and just delete the bad ones.
If you have a TON, there are companies that do this for you, I believe, but I think you have to pay.
Amendment to my previous statement, it looks like the one service I was familiar with where you did previously have to pay just went free. Here’s the link: https://www.thesocialu.com/
good luck with your job search!
