Number of Recruited Athletes Admitted per Class

So, I know that each college is different, that data fluctuates wildly; but for a moment let us generalize and assume, grudgingly, the "ball park estimate" caps.

For a Division I school with, say, as many sports as those schools in the Ivy League. Just how many admitted students in a given class would you say are recruited athletes? Certainly the raw number of athletes (perhaps given as an average per sport--although sports differ) would not change greatly between schools, only that number's percentage of the incoming class.

This is totally out of curiosity--I see often discussions of the additive effect of legacies, URMs, athletes, etc. on a school's incoming class--just how many athletes are there?

shameless bump!

Your assumption that this data is free knowledge is flawed, I believe. No way Brown or Yale or UPenn is going to publish this kinda data. Some publics might (you definitely know how many FB or BBall scholarships a Div 1 school has).

Plus some schools (Ivies) have lots of teams and small incoming classes – some other schools have little to no sports (MIT, Caltech)

I know that at ivy’s most sports have between 8-15 “slots”. And then there are some kids who get a big push. I don’t know how many sports teams, say, yale has, but you could do the math as easily as I could.
