NU's reputation continues to grow - co-op

You are seeing it somewhat in the rankings, but even more in other indicators and underground whispers. The reputation of Northeastern University as a prestigious university with a globe-leading co-op program is growing constantly. It is now the "hot school" to which to apply. The academics are improving as well. Thus, it becomes more selective each year.

Congrats to all of you for getting in now. I expect other universities will begin to follow NU's lead with co-op if they haven't already. In fact, I'm not sure why they don't right now, because all the threads and posts about co-op and jobs after getting a bachelor's make it obvious to me that it's the new model for success. Your degree will carry heavier cachet than many schools with legacy academic reps but not nearly the translation into job success.

That was a great article and the comments after it even better. My D was admitted EA to honors program with Dean’s scholarship, but she still is not sold on the school (waiting to hear from 7 other schools). We are going to the Welcome Day in a few weeks and I am hoping she will become more enthusiastic. In this economy, I think NEU is the way to go!
