It looks like half of them are “these are things that I don’t like, so, of course, in the future, everybody will think like me!!”, and the other half are “these are new trends that I don’t like, and so they will likely go away and be embarrassing”.

So so many people who have that awful mixture of self-centeredness and self-righteousness, with a good dose of obliviousness to their own privilege. So many people who believe that they they are the most morally and ethically advanced people in the world, and in the future, once everybody is as advanced as them, everybody will accept their beliefs. So many people who believe that their ability to lead their “enlightened” lifestyle has nothing to do with the wealth, health, and social status, but can be followed by anybody who is enlightened enough.

The rest are crotchety old people of different ages who are posting their wishful thinking.

One thing that is 100% going to be cringe for about 20 years is 90% of all popular music. After that is will be popular again. It will be posted on the 2060 version of YouTube, and the kids of that time will be posting “I wish that I lived in 2020, they had such cool music then!!”
