NY Times & WSJ articles regarding Harvard admissions

The NY Times had an op-ed today titled "Is Harvard Unfair to Asian-Americans?" This follow's last week's WSJ article titled
"Harvard's Asian Problem".

I know the topic of whether Asians have a tougher time getting admitted to selective colleges has been beaten to death, and I am NOT trying to restart it. However, I think it is notable that both the NY Times and the WSJ have put out opinion pieces on the same side of this issue, although the Times article is an op-ed contributor vs by the editorial board for the WSJ.

It's rare that the Times and the WSJ agree on anything, and it may suggest a shift in thinking that colleges need a transparent admissions process. Comments?

A shift in the thinking by whom?

it is a not so secret, dirty little secret at Harvard , that Asians get discriminated against. I would feel better if they just admitted it. the fact that Harvard takes tax payer money should be reason enough to allow this lawsuit to move forward. it is also important the plaintiffs do not settle , they must make Harvard let their practices see the light of day!

They’re both just jumping on the same bandwagon. (I should admit I don’t find their agreement means they’re authoritative.)

And folks certain of discrimination can check out the race in college admissions thread.

I heard some Asians are suing Harvard for discrimination.
