how would you rate these schools from 1 to 5 ( 1 being the least) on how their degree leads to a good job in the finance world?

Columbia
NYU
Fordham
Pace
St. Johns
Baruch College
New School

any help would be great, thank you.

Columbia is by far the best, NYU is close if it is from Stern, then NYU, and then a big drop off.

Columbia, (considerable gap), NYU, (very considerable gap), Fordham, (very considerable gap), Baruch next and the rest of the schools are pretty much the same.

I've only heard of four - and I think it really depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I would prefer an innovative school:

New School

NYU (because of Gallatin)

Fordham

Columbia

He's looking for a good job in the finance world.

I'd agree with the others and say Columbia and NYU should be at the top of the list.

Kheryn may have personal preferences, but they do not translate into the reality of the financial world. I agree with all the others in that Columbia is a clear #1, with NYU following at a distance. As for the others, I would look outside NYC first ... to a top-tier private, and then combine it with a good internship in NYC.

I second what jonathan and admisscouns say.

Columbia - 5
NYU (stern) - 5
NYU - 4
Fordham - 3
St. Johns - 3
Pace - 2

Baruch College - not familiar
New School - not familiar.

Those numbers are relative to the other schools.

Columbia and NYU (stern) - 1
NYU (CAS) and Fordham - 2
St. Johns and Pace - 3

New School-more art-related than finance
Baruch-not familiar enough with to comment

Xeneise - Fordham and St. Johns are far from the same ranking..Fordham being much better. Fordham is on par with Baruch.
