NYIT or CCNY

Title says it all. In terms of engineering programs, which is better?

IMHO, NYIT is not worth the extra $$ if you can got to CCNY at the in-city rate. I definitely would not recommend taking big loans to attend

My family can definitely afford NYIT’s tuition so I don’t care about money. So the real question is which has better academics.

Bump

have you looked at graduation rates?

NYIT has a 24% grad rate in 4 years – http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg01_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1042

CCNY has an 11% grad rate in 4 years.

I think that the abysmal grad rates are partly a factor of students working while going to school (they take longer to graduate) and the fact that tuition is relatively low (meaning that they may figure taking one extra year won’t be that painful in the long run).

My feeling is that both schools are pretty good but check whether each one is ABET accredited in the type of engineering that you want.

@Dustyfeathers Thanks for the info! I looked it up and turns out both are ABET accredited for my major so I think I’ll just choose NYIT

Ccny , never City Tech because it’s a shitty school with shady people . City tech is basically one step higher then a Community college like Bmcc

@StoryOfWilliam lol I’m talking about ccny and nyit, not city tech

Even worst lol at least with City Tech you get actual education
