Hey guys I have a quick question about NYU's math PhD programs. I want to go to graduate school for applied mathematics, specifically dealing with PDE's and their applications, especially towards physics, as well as numerical analysis. I see that NYU has a Mathematics PhD program as well as an Atmospheric Ocean Science and Mathematics program. Which program would I typically want to apply to? I am having a hard time figuring out which would be a better fit and what the overall difference is between the two programs, besides one being focused mote in atmospheric science. Is the strictly Mathematics PhD for pure math or could I focus in Applied math as well? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
