So how am I looking for NYU CAS? Thanks for any input!

Make sure you list your regional and state science fair awards.

Your ECs and other stuff are good. All you need are the SAT scores.

I'm really hoping that I do a lot better on the SATs this time around, but just out of curiosity, where do I stand with my current scores?

What is the breakdown of your SATS? Even with the SATs I think you are a fine candidate for NYU.

My breakdown is 620M 690V 640W.

Like I said before, I think that I am capable of way better, but I'm still interested in my chances with my current scores...

Average SATs at NYU are around 660/658 = 1318/1600 if I recall, with those in Stern higher at around 1422/1600. (NYU doesn't look at the writing score too closely I believe). The average GPA is around 3.6 UW, but everyone who gets in takes a super tough courseload, so the average W GPA is probably around 4.2 to 4.3.

Your GPA is UW 3.85, with a SAT I of 1310/1600, you are taking a full IB diploma program, and your ECs are pretty good.

Based upon this, you have about a 60% chance of acceptance at NYU CAS.

P.S. The only thing hurting you is the rank. If you can have your school leave that off the transcript, have them do so.

I don't think I can leave off my rank. It's just outside of 10%... does it really matter that much for a school like NYU? I know it's a good school but...

I just said that if it was possible, do so. The reason is because normally a 3.85 UW GPA is in the top 10% of a high school class. If you can't do it, then don't worry about it; you will probably be accepted anyway.

thanks for the feedback! any other opinions...?

Oh and how much does a midyear report matter (if they accept/want a midyear report...)
