NYU CAS Computer Science and Data Science double major?

Hello All,

What do people think of the NYU Computer Science and Data Science double major? Are you happy with program? My son wants to take Data Science and choosing between UWash-Seattle, UW-Madison, Purdue, UC-Davis and NYU. One plus about the NYU program is they have a CS and DS double major which other colleges don’t seem to have.

I do data for a living. Most any CS or IT degree will do. It can help having a data science degree, but it’s not necessary. The main thing he needs to learn is SQL. Chances are, when he graduates, he’ll get a job in a completely different specialty anyway. There’s lots to choose from. Data is pretty dry and boring :slight_smile:
