NYU CAS vs Berkeley L&S?

So it's down to these two schools more or less. I am looking to major in mathematics/computer science, but I think you don't declare majors as a freshman in either school.

So... which one of these two? Please factor in academics/career/living/etc. Thank you all.

Are you in-state for Cal? Berkeley is clearly a lot better for computer science.

I vote Berkeley. But both are great schools. NYC is amazing and so is Berkeley. Honestly, just pick the one you like best. If you’re in CA, Berkeley is probably about half the price, by the way…

In Berkeley L&S, all freshmen enter as undeclared; they declare majors after completing the freshman and sophomore prerequisite courses. Some majors are capped; this means that one has to apply to declare the major and they select a subset of applicants to be allowed to declare the major. However, math and CS are currently not capped (though CS still maintains an application process from the time it was capped).

Berkeley is the obvious choice here.
