NYU!?!? Help Please!!!

I graduated from a parochial high school in southern Louisiana with a 3.6 grade point average (I believe I only had one C), along with several honors courses and one AP course. I was very involved in the speech and debate program at my school, and I even had some national recognition. Now, I am a freshman at Louisiana State University (majoring in psychology). I have never applied to NYU before, but now it is my dream to transfer there. My fall semester grade point average was a 4.0 (with 16 hours of credit), and I am currently taking 14 hours (one class being an honors course). I believe I have a pretty decent record, aside from my act score of 22. Additionally, I am insecure in my abilities to write a killer essay.

I need brutal honesty!!!!!!!!

-Do I have any chance?
-How can I stick out!??!?!?!??
-Will it hurt that I am transferring from LSU as opposed to a more competitive institution?
-Would it help to try to transfer for summer 2006 instead of fall 2006?

Does anyone have any advice?

-Yes.
-I don't know.
-No. I don't think so.
-I don't think it'll make a difference.

-you have a chance. theres no hurt in trying.
-make sure to talk about the speech and debate experience, and the national recognition.
-no lsu is a respected institution. as long as you are taking serious courses.
-im not sure about that last point.

Maybe you should try to raise your ACT score or SAT score? I think transfer schools look at ACT and SAT scores, but I'm not sure...

yeah try taking that again. see what you get.
