What school/major, and is your GPA weighted or unweighted?

School: College of Arts and Sciences. GPA is weighted my school only sends in my weighted GPA

Very, very low chances. Both your ACT + SAT scores are extremely low (likely around the 5th percentile for CAS), and if your weighted GPA is a 3.9 then the grades on your transcript would be recalculated to an unweighted of around a 3.5.

You should aim for a 4.0 unweighted for however many years of high school you have left and improve your SAT by around 300 points/ACT by around 8 points to have a chance at admission.

1450 SAT Ideal…
32 or better ACT…

Hey guys, hope everyone is having a restful break . Anyone mind chancing me? NYU Stern is my main school, CAS econ as a secondary. Torn between applying ED2 or RD, any feedback and advice is much appreciated!

SAT: 1380/1600 - 690 math 690 reading
GPA: 93 3.7
Ranking: Not too high (top 40%) but the school is relatively small and most students have extremely similar grades and classes.
APs: 5 AP’s taken- Language, Literature, Bio, Psych and Comp Sci (school doesn’t offer many AP’s so I took almost all of the ones they offer).

EC’s: Intern at the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation of America (I have Crohn’s disease personally so I share solidarity with the organization) - many leadership positions including Power of Two program and I help organize many of the events including the Take Steps Walks and Awards Dinners). I network with people through the Young Professionals group (meet with people who work at JPM, deloitte, guggenheim who also are afflicted with the disease). Many many hours dedicated to this particular EC.
-Owner of small business on eBay- $100,000 monthly selling limit and over 500 positive transactions and counting. I’ve been growing the business for roughly 2 years now, and I specialize in the sale of designer and luxury merchandise. Grades may be on the lower side because I run the business daily and it takes up a considerable chunk of my time.
-Varsity Rugby- 4 years of experience, many many many hours dedicated to rugby. Numerous team awards. My school greatly lacks in the area of EC’s and clubs, so I’ve dedicated all my after school time towards Rugby (only during the season)- there are literally NO CLUBS offered at my school- will colleges see this?
-Some miscellaneous volunteering at tutoring centers- adds up to roughly 80-100 hours.

Recommendations: One EXTREMELY strong recommendation written by my favorite teacher- I was able to read it and it nearly brought me to tears. Encapsulated everything I want colleges to know about me
Other strong recs (total of 4) 1 from the development manager at the CCFA and 3 others from teachers who are fond of me.

Essays: Main common app essay is well written (IMO) and I’ve talked about eBay and entrepreneurship and innovation (that sort of stuff). Supplement (Why NYU) - in the process of finishing it up, but I am writing something along the lines of business.

Hooks- Extremely low income student (I’m applying HEOP), widowed parent, first gen student.
My school is much lesser known, and yearly there are few applicants to NYU, much less for stern.
