I saw that and I knew there was no way I was going to be accepted - unless my portfolio is considered amazing - nope

Nyu is one of those schools that doesn’t lower their acceptance rate, instead they will just make it higher if the number of applicants increase

^hope

Looking back I don’t even know why I applied. There’s no way I could afford to attend.

Regarding decisions on Friday: idk if RD will be the same, but for ED2, rejections started going out at around 1am EST, and pretty much all of the acceptances came out at 3pm EST. Albert usually changes with the “Offer of Admission” button before you get your email. I know mine changed 10 minutes before I got my email, so if you really want to know, make sure you’re checking your Albert. Best of luck, guys!!!

Ugh that’s so nerve-wracking! Thanks & good luck to everyone!! Not too far away…

Hey guys, just out of curiosity, how many people got an email a week before the deadline asking for details of financial aid?

beatsbydrshrey I didn’t but do you think their asking because your finalizing a FA package ( I’m experiencing the same thing from another school)

Ignore wrong thread

@ALEBRO88 not sure what you mean but I think they are asking me because they might be finalising their decision of an acceptance or why would they bother if I was going to be rejected? just an assumption though.

btw, did you apply for NYU financial aid?

That’s exactly what I meant. Sorry if I phrase it awkwardly, and yes I did apply for NYU FA idk their website is just so simple I can’t even try and guess what kind of decision I’m going to receive.

has anyone gotten their decision yet today?

Decisions are coming out tomorrow.

They start sending out the emails pre-dawn starting on the east coast and moving from there - according to the NYU blog post that went up recently

are rejections or acceptances released before dawn or later on in day?

For ED, rejections were supposedly sent before acceptances

I’m not sure it wasn’t specified in the blog post - all it said was that they start sending out emails pre-dawn starting on the east coast

I was accepted for EDII. For our matriculation, rejections for international students started arriving right after it hit 12AM. This was just for international students. There was a second wave of rejections soon after in the early morning. I don’t remember exactly what time it was. Acceptance emails arrived at 3PM EST sharp. Here on CC, everyone who received acceptances at 3PM sharp were all from different places. I’m on the West Coast and there were several people from Long Island, etc. I don’t think geographic location play a huge part in receiving acceptances if you’re inside the country.

The email were supposed to start at “pre-dawn” for EDII as well so I would count on the pattern being similar, if not the same.

Hope that helps you guy a little! All the best of luck and let me know if I can ease your waiting game by anwering any other questions.

@lyndak Would you tell us your stats?

@Lyndak when you say acceptances went out at 3PM, does that include international?
