@jessicajxh On the other hand, last year several applicants said they only had summer 2017 and did get in.
has anybody gotten any invitations to accepted student days who haven’t been officially admitted yet? i know NYU’s done that in the past so i’m wondering if anyone has gotten one
@lindsayali nope
on their twitter it said that they would give info on admitted student days after rd decisions were out
@lindsayalice17 I’m assuming that you mean likely letters. NYU hasn’t sent them in years.
has anyone’s financial aid changed yet? mine still doesn’t have the year (2018) so I assume that “it hasn’t yet been determined”
My FA has the year “2018 New York University” with “award access not available” next to the year. That changed a couple of weeks ago (used to not have the chart and just say award access not available).
Housing: I had “no applications available” in January and then “summer 2017” in February. In march I had Academic Year 2017-18 in addition to summer 2017 for a few days/week about three weeks ago but it disappeared and I only have summer 2017 at this time. I had the “induction” tab on housing at some point but it is gone now.
Under “view/register for events”, I have had “admission events: no events are scheduled” for forever. Under my events or cancel events I have had the box to enter a confirmation number for forever. I did have access to “admitted students OCR” for about a half hour one day last week through “view register for events” but that is gone now.
I have never had access to org sync.
I applied to tisch and am from the US. Did I leave anything or? LOL.
oh rlly i thought they sent them last year? but ok nvm
Does anyone know if the choice of major matters for admission into CAS? Thx
@Teach-me there are some more competitive programs within CAS so I would assume that choice of major is taken into consideration for admission to CAS, but I’m not completely sure on that.
@getaclucy Thank you. Yes, I know that the Computer Science program for example is very competitive, but I have not found any information on how the applicants are selected, given that a good portion of students change major.
I got in ED II to LSP and I took screenshots of the changes I had on my portal in the days leading up to the decision. I don’t know/think that the changes really mean anything, but let me know if you guys want info on the changes I got!
@Teach-me Unfortunately you’re probably not going to find much information on how the applicants are selected, given that most schools try to keep their methods for how they choose accepted students pretty secretive. I hope you get good news when decisions come out!
@freakingout2021 post the changes please. I don’t think they mean anything with the exception of the “freshman” change in housing
@getaclucy Thank u, same to u.
@freakingout2021 yes please!! particularly the financial aid changes!!
How does everyone notice all these portal changes?
@anicole45 checking the portals excessively often (and I do it too so no judgements to anyone).
Okay so I’m officially 100% conviced by this thread that I’m rejected and that I have nothing to look forward to on Thrusday: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1473035-nyu-2017-rd-fa-change-and-result-disclosure-pledge-thread-p10.html
@SternAspirations Please look through 2021 ED for NYU to realize that these changes had no correlation to decision. People went out of their way to emphasize this. Only 2 days to go, so no reason to lose hope now.
