Just got rejected from Stanford, NYU you’re all i have now ?
head scratcher!
Why would people bother about housing when even not knowing accepted or not?
How if you see fall housing but find out rejected.
Don’t pile up your stress, my 2 cents.
Good luck to all!
For RD do applicants who got accepted sometimes get a financial aid notification about 30 minutes to decisions being released or is that just for ED?
So I applied for financial aid and check on my TAP application and received money for NYU. Has anyone checked their TAP?
Mine has NYU listed but I received no money. I don’t think my family qualified.
@daphneheslop Sorry to hear that. I thought it was a mistake that I was seeing. Best of luck to us!
is it true that some people are getting their RD decisions back earlier than others?
@parkerblondin I don’t think so. I know that MLK Scholarship recipients get their notification about a week before the rest of RD decisions come out but I haven’t seen anybody else get a notification early. There is someone on this thread that said they got a decision early by snail mail, but I haven’t seen anything else like that.
Have anyone’s financial aid document dates changed? Mine are still the original dates
For housing I only have summer 2020 idk if I should be worried or not
@wanglou where are they supposed to change? and to what?
@ellie1234 For other schools, sometimes changes in the “received” dates for the financial aid documents indicate admission. The dates change from the original received date to another in Feb/March. If they don’t change, it doesn’t mean a rejection but typically it’s good news if it does. I don’t know if NYU does this though…
@wanglou I haven’t heard that before! Mine are still the dates in December and January when they got my docs originally. From what I read, nobody has talked about that in this year’s NYU forums, so I’m hoping they don’t do that!
My D’s financial documents received dates never changed, fyi.
how do you see housing cause mine redirects to NYU esuite office of the bursar
Here’s the link https://housing.nyu.edu/apply
*note: any changes to housing from now to admissions date doesn’t mean anything as proven from last year’s decisions.
Do you guys know how liberal studies works? I think that I said I was interested in it on my commonage, but now I am generally confused about it. Like is it a program where if you don’t get into the NYC campus/ your major of choice you go abroad your freshman year or have a general liberal arts curriculum? Like how and why do you get into it I guess is my question.
whats an office of the bursar, whre do you see academic year and other stuff?
@gungagiginggong the office of the bursar is where you pay deposits and stuff, https://housing.nyu.edu/apply is where you will find the academic year 2020-2021 stuff. That is the website everyone is talking to on here. it doesn’t really mean anything, so if you don’t see what you want to see don’t be discouraged.
@ellie1234 I’m pretty sure the studying abroad you’re describing is Global Liberal Studies, another type of bachelor degree system. Liberal Studies is just a core curriculum that offers more interdisciplinary course options.
