Yes, if you get the financial aid email it means you’ve been admitted, but not everyone who was accepted got the email (I did get the email as an ED1 applicant, but my friends who also got in did not. So, you may still get in even if you do not receive an email.

Yes (assuming you applied to one of the schools that does it, not all do)
I’d say the vast majority of applicants don’t see a change before the official decision is out. I don’t know why some do.

Guys, good luck. Remember everything happens for a reason. If you get in, that’s awesome! If you don’t, I’m sure other amazing universities have accepted you already. You’ll be great no matter where you go!

Hey, I was admitted ED 2 to CAS. There is no indication or “sign” in the housing portal or any other part of the NYU admissions portal. People just read too much into small changes in the system to derive hope or a quick answer to this question of an admissions decision. Some have said they’ve received a financial aid email up to an hour before the decision releases, but take it with a grain of salt. I firmly believe that everyone will end up where they need to be. I hope this clears up some misconceptions or anxiety. I hope you all get in at 12:00 (eastern time)! #nyu2024
