NYU Stern vs. BC vs. W&M vs. BU vs. NEU vs. Villanova

Accepted to the following into their business schools (want to double in math possibly) except for william and mary where i would have to apply to enter b school for junior year.

-NYU Stern: 54k a year
-Boston College Carroll: 53k a year
-William & Mary: 39k a year
-Boston University (Honors Program and 20k scholarship): 32k a year
-Northeastern University (Honors Program and 16k scholarship): 32k a year
-Villanova University: 53k a year
-Binghamton University: 20k a year

we can comfortably afford schools in the 30k range. the couple that are more expensive would be a stretch but somewhat doable. which should i totally cross out? where would you go if you were in my position? i like all the schools and this decision is very tough. i'm just looking for some outside opinion.

It all depends. Are you planning on graduate school? If so, then I’d cross out all the schools over your price limit. Grad school can be very expensive and you’re going to want to save up for that. BUT if graduate school isn’t a factor, I’d pick the school with the best academic reputation (which I’d say is a tie between W&M and BC). Villanova is a good school too, but way overpriced and pretty overrated. I got in there, but it turned out to be way too expensive. But still, I’ve heard WONDERFUL things about Villanova as well, should that be your choice. You can also check out business school rankings on US News and World. Honestly though, I’d go with BC or W&M unless you plan on grad. school. Then I’d go with Northeastern or Boston U.

Help me choose??

Since you can comfortably afford those schools in the 30K range, anything that number and below are good financial schools for you and your parents. For undergrad, I definitely recommend that.

After crossing out BC, NYU and Nova for being way too expensive [and honestly, not worth the extra money], ** I’d choose BU. ** I don’t like that you have to apply to get into the W&M Business School as a Junior, Northeastern’s campus is kind of disgusting along with Binghamton’s. =]

W&M is the easy choice.

yes i will probably go to graduate school but not right away

W&M is a terrific school. My favorite on this list. Boston College is a good one too (nephew went there and now works in finance)…but expensive. NYU is wonderful, especially Stern. But, go there for grad school. They don’t have any campus and you’d always yearn for that “college experience”. Villanova has a high ranking as a b-school, but meh. Binghamton: less expensive, but losing an edge b/c NY state is hurting financially. Northeastern: least favorite of this bunch, least expensive, but least rigorous.

i personally think bu and northeastern should be off the list. considering that youre not getting that much off for them, theyre not the same tier as the rest. villanova also seems a little overexpensive. I would narrow it down to BC, William and Mary, and Binghamton

William and Mary or Northeastern.

W&M looks to be the best choice.
