NYU Stern vs BU SMG vs McGill Desautel (HELP!)

I'm having a tough time finding differences between NYU Stern, BU SMG, and McGill Desautel. I'm still a junior, and have only visited BU so far, but I want to kind of have an idea about these three schools for next year (they're my top 3). I'm planning on doing Marketing, and will probably double with International Business.

Also, how does McGill rank against NYU and BU in terms of prestige, recruitment, and grad school placement? I'm leaning towards McGill because of the minimal core, Montreal, the flexibility of the program, and because of int'l business (learning french in a french speaking country, the diverse student body, etc.)

Thanks!

Stern wins easily. Global studies program.

What REALLY helps in grad school placement is your G.P.A. and entrance test scores.

Just attend some actual classes at each school and see what you think. How interested are the students? How interesting are the students? That’s what swayed my nephew to go to McGill.

If money’s no issue, not much can beat Stern in terms of what you’re looking for.

Otherwise, Mcgill is the best in quality for the buck.

They’re both in great cities and they are very far from the usual college feeling. Stern is world-famous so prestige and recruitment are for sure. Mcgill is of the few best universities in Canada so prestige and recruitment are also there.

You might want to check Mcgill’s section in CC, there’s a thread by ‘tomofboston’ who answers student questions and describes his own experience at Mcgill. As you can guess from his name, he is from Boston (and his brother went to BU) so you will surely get a lot of insight from him.

Thanks you guys! I’m just trying to get a better understanding for next year, because if Stern seems to be my top choice, I may want to ED to boost my chances. ctyankee, I’ll definetly see if I can sit in on a few classes. And andrewheat, money is thankfully not an issue, but I’ll check out tom’s thread. Thanks again.

Anyone else?

lol you’re doing marketing + international business. The prestige of your school doesn’t matter. Do yourself a favor and go to a cheap school in a big city where you can get work experience while in college.

^Thanks for the advice.

Anyone else?

Stern! Stern! Stern!
