Bump! Please, any help would be great!

Man, there are so many requests that this gets bumped to the bottom real quick… :</p>

Sorry, I’d reply to this, but I know nothing about NYU Tisch. My bad.

Yeah, no problem! NYU Tisch is pretty much NYU, but they balance out academic performance with your portfolio sample about 50/50%.

If you’re applying for film and television, i think colleges will focus more on your extra curriculars, which clearly show you have a true passion for the film/arts. From your stats i can tell you have a geniune interest in this field and I’m sure colleges will be more than willing to overlook your standardized testing scores, especially considering the fact that you’re ranked 1 in your class (which shows you may not be the best standarized test taker, but you work pretty damn hard). I’d say you have a good shot.

That being said, however, NYU is one of the hardest schools to get into for Film. It’s the equivalent to an IVY League in that department so it’s a reach for any applicant. But i still think you have a decent shot.

Best of luck

^^ Thanks so much! Guys, I also applied to Binghamton University and Boston University for the same major. I got accepted to Ithaca College with a $15,000 a year merit based scholarship (President’s) if that’s helpful… so chances for Boston U and Binghamton would be cool too!

Bumping this one more time.

I do not know much about your college, but looking at your GPA, and class rank, those should be right up there for a film college.

I would take more AP classes, just to bolster your position in it.

You have a lot of community service which is great! Lookin’ good!

I personally feel what matters more for Tisch is the essay and ECs. I mean, I can’t imagine schools giving more importance to Biology or Math scores for a Film and TV program (though your scores aren’t bad at all) !!
Remember, even one of the greatest filmmakers ever, Steven Spielberg, was rejected by USC for his poor grades!! I’m sure NYU wouldn’t want to repeat such a mistake :)

I have a gut feeling that you have a great chance of getting in! Your creative spirit is your biggest asset :D!

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. Steven Spielberg is actually my idol, haha! I hope they see over my bad SAT scores, I have a lot of initiative to succeed :)

I think you have good enough grades to get in… but dont you have to audition to get in? I think if you have a good audition you’ll be golden!

@iLoveNewYork15

Thank you! Actually, you don’t have to audition for film and television, but you do have to submit a portfolio :)

A person from my school got into Tisch. Not sure what major but she worked on my school’s weekly television show named CTV. CTV won all state awards in Florida. She wasn’t the greatest student so i would say you have a good chance at it.

yeah, i think they’ll definitely look more at your film/video activities since that’s your major. i mean, you hardly need math in film…right? haha i don’t really know. you should be fine since your ECs are outstanding.

[chance me back?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/866056-chance-columbia.html)

thanks for the chance!

i would say in because your porfolio/non-academics seem outstanding and your grades are similar to a friend of mine who got into NYU ED. good luck!

I think you have a really good chance of getting in as long as your portfolio is good, because academically, you look great! Your SAT scores might be a little low,but your 4.0 and top rank in school along withall the extra curriculars outweigh that. Good luck!!!
Would you mind looking at my post? I want to go to tisch too.

Um this thread is old, you didnt see that?

I know a girl who got into my school for NYU Tisch.

She wasn’t the brightest and her SAT scores were around an 1800…you have a shot :)
