You have excellent ECs, but you really need to improve the GPA and SAT scores. By a lot. For any shot at NYU or UCLA, you’ll need to improve your SAT by at the very least, 350-400 points. Your WEIGHTED GPA is currently around a 3.3. At NYU/UCLA, most incoming freshman have around 3.7 GPAs UNWEIGHTED.

darn it, i knew my GPA and SAT would screw me… what would be a good GPA to have while applying and SAT score? (towards the low side, cuz then it could be a reach school)

I would say around 3.5-3.6 and around 2050-2150; and I agree with the person above, your ECs are excellent, keep them up.

thanks for all the help

What’s your home state? UCLA accepts 90% In-state students and 10% Out-of-state students, while NYU is 28% In-state students and 72% Out-of-state students (Stats from collegeboard), so that could make a big difference

im from NY. uh oh, there goes my UCLA chance lool

Oh btw guys one of my best friends (from Washington state) really really wants to study molec bio at UCLA and he has a 3.52 but also has a 2250 and really good EC’s. He doesn’t have a CC profile, so he wants me to do this for him. He wants the percentage chances. Like what? 25%? 30? 35? 15? 50? 5? 65?

He’s a curiously numerical character so he wantms numbers i think.
