I’m currently in the throes of making my college decision and am torn between NYU (Global Liberal Studies Program) and UC Berkeley (College of Letters and Sciences). When I visited I loved both for different reasons. I love the culture of political activism at Berkeley and SF being so close as well as the many courses they offer. I’m nervous about the work load knowing how rigorous and stressful it can be (Does anyone know how it compares to NYU?). NYC is an amazing location and I’m excited about the GLS program and studying culture, classics and wish to minor in a fine arts field (does anyone know if Cal or NYU is better for this sort of thing?). However, I think I clicked better with the community at UCB. Both are expensive since I’ll be paying OOS tuition if I go to Cal (however NYU is still more so). If anyone is able to provide some advice and/or perspective and maybe compare/contrast the two it would be greatly appreciated!
