So I just applied to the NYU McGhee division. I applied for a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in politics. However, they literally just made a new announcement saying that anyone who doesn’t already have an associate degree or 60+ credits will only be considered for associate degree program. I currently attend a four year state institution, and I was hoping to transfer here with the intention of earning a bachelor’s degree. Even I did get into this associate degree program, how hard would it be to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program in either SPS or another college within NYU?
Not sure about your situation considering that you are already a transfer student, but I transferred to CAS after 4 semesters as a part-time student years back. It wasn’t hard – I started with 3.85 GPA which declined rapidly after the 2nd semester, but stayed good enough to transfer. I was an econ major and took several econ classes at McGhee, but once I got there, they asked me to RE-TAKE pretty much all my econ classes again – as it turns out, econ classes at CAS are far more rigorous and my McGhee classes didn’t meet their standards.
