If you have a "binge eating" problem why don't you just buy you a great large bag of raw carrots. Then when the urge strike just start stuffing those down, you prolly wont eat as much but if you do...hey its just carrots!

tkm256,

How did this disorder develop? When did it devolop? Why did it develop? If you don't want to answer i understand, just trying to see the causes.

uvajoe, thank you for asking. I'm working through the causes with my therapist, and making tremendous progress, I think. It's rooted in the way I was brought up, there was a lot of screaming and hitting, in general insecurities and in my father's lineage--we have a history of manic depression.

This makes me look like a total braggart, but I made a website about eating disorders as a method to cope. I put my thoughts down to organize them and try to figure it out myself, and it makes me feel better to think someone else will relate and help themselves before they spiral down too far. The address is http://www.geocities.com/triumph256/index.html; I call it "All Ducklings are Beautiful."

BTW, I like your carrot idea. I like carrots...they're really yummy if you cut them up and microwave for 40 seconds. Then I could eat like a horse and have really good eye sight :)

Careful you don't turn orange though :)
On a more serious note, I'm glad to hear that you're working through the disorder, and I wish you the best of luck tkm256!

Yer...goodluck tkn256 were here for you!!

I wish u well!

tkm,

i read your essays, and feel terrible about the struggles you have had. Are you still binge eating as of today? If so, i would recommend seeing a nutritionalist, someone who can explain what specifically you need to eat, and how much. Then just try to follow his/her guidelines and mold a new way of approaching food, just don't think about it. This may sound weird but don't even ponder food/calories, just follow the experts guidance until you can break free from your disorder. I'm sure its alot easier said than done, but it sounds like you really need to overcome your disorder. Good luck.

If there are ways to stop smoking then I'm sure there are things out there to help people loose weight, just try and find them.If you need a friend I'll help!I'll keep my eye open for info and numbers for you too.
