Hi! So first of all, here's the catch: I'm graduating high school in three years.. so my credits are:

english: 4
social studies: 3
art: 4.5
math: 3 plus algebra in middle school
science: 2
language: 2 spanish, 2 italian
gym: 3

My gpa, unweighted, is 3.36.
I have AP Psych - 5, and am in AP Studio Art this year, with a few other honors classes.
29 on the ACT.

I've been actively involved in key club for the past three years, which includes tutoring, and have been the committee head for a program where we cook dinner monthly for homeless people for the past two years.

I'm also the president of amnesty international, and have been very involved with the organization invisible children. Our club raised a large amount of money for them last year, so I went to Uganda this past summer.

My essays are good, and I have very solid teacher recs.

I worked at the library for a summer, and regularly babysit.

Let me know if there's anything else; I'll chance back!

3 years? so you’re a sophomore? but how are you already president of something…?

this looks like a good beginning to a good app. you really need SAT, more ECs, APs, and try to bring up or GPA. but the amount you have to do for these really depends on where you’re looking to go.

how could you already have written your essays/gotten teacher recs? the essays are supposed to be based on experiences throughout high school, and teacher recs are only supposed to be 11th-12th grade…

I recommend getting extremely involved in one activity and continuing that through. as far as getting into Occidental, really depends what you do with the next three years. you have a good “foundation”, so to speak, though.

No, I’m a junior, so this is my last year. I have been very involved in amnesty international, which is why I’m the president. I’ve written a couple essays now.

Occidental is really my dream school, so I’m willing to take a year off/ go somewhere else for a year if it improves my chances.
