October 2010 ACT Math Thread

the only way that there would be infinite solutions is if the two equations were the same.

to do this, you multiply the first one by 3 to get it to like the second one

and you get 45=5a

a= 9

Oh wow! I feel so stupid… Thanks! Do you remember what letter that was?

no idea 10char

What was the letter choice answer to the logic question that went something like " all …are…; all … are …; etc"

Was it E?

idk nic0. I think i put c,d, or e.

It was def not E. It was something in the middle.

I think it was C?

I want to say it was C as well.

Indeed, it was C.

^yea im pretty sure i remember putting c

Maybe something interesting to note is that for people who don’t normally memorize letters, the ones they do memorize also happen to be ones that the same KIND of people also memorize. It’s as if there are certain questions that make the same impressions upon people but other questions do not. Just thought I throw out there.

Well for that ONE question, the first 2 were essentially the same thing. If choice A were true, choice B would also be true by the same line of logic. For choices D and E, it was the same case. the only one that did not have a ‘double’ and could be substantiated from those 3 lines was C.

For the clock question was 12degrees an option? I know the REAL answer is 21, but I may be dyslexic in my answer.
I probably got a 35 now :(

^there was answer starting with 1. I forget what it was though.

For the logic question-the one where everyone is sayign the answer is C-was that the ones with “all blins are…”??

^yes it was

I’m not even gonna bother thinking of a question to ask cause i remember nothing lol

Do you all think math will have a +1 because of all the trig/calc questions?

I’m really hoping so because that damned painter decided one coat wasn’t good enough lol

^lol.
From what others have said math won’t have a +1 but I hope so.

Yep, the logic question was definitely C. One of the original three statements was all meeps are flints. The answer choice C was all blins are meeps. If all b are m, and all m are f, then by the rules of logic all b are f.

@ daretorun

About four of the answer choices on that question had a denomitor of 77, so unfortunately that lessens your chances a bit.

oh wonderful…
