October 2010 ACT Math Thread

ratio was def 2/3, not 3/2.

any one remember the perimeter one with x+5 x-3

Kai what did you get the tan^-1 question with the 25/3 or 3/25

the geometric question was asking AS the ball KEPT bouncing, so it would be bouncing with a smaller and smaller height each time. 3/2 would mean that the ball was bouncing higher each time.

@linger 3/25 for sure
opposite was 3

x+5 x+3 was 4x+4 i believe

Anyone remember the letter of question 60? I only got to question 59 and just guessed on the 60th question… I put in B lol

My exam was 70a or something like that.

yea that what i got kai

I understand that 3/25 was opp/adj but woulnt that just be regular tan and not tan^-1? I am probably wrong but I just dont understand why its not 25/3

the isosceles triangle with ten with one side all u had to do was make the other side 10 and get the answer which was sqrt of 200

Oh ■■■
I think I put sin^-1 (3/25)
-1 for me :(

Tangent inverse is not cotangent, it gives you the angle value…I think. So yeah? 3/25

kind of expanding, u use inverse tan when trying to find the measurement of an angle, and that was what the question was asking

O thanks everybody I get it now then, I think I got 2 wrong :frowning: now, this is upsetting. such dumb errors.

blah

10char

what was the 135th number in the sequence?
8 right?

Thanks yiypr. I guess Im just rusty with my trig :(

wow im looking at 5 DEF wrong (cause i randomly filled in C/G) and atleast 6-7 wrong? any predictions? maybe a 27, anyone?

Anyone know the answer to the last question? The one with the two prisms?

^same volume
135th in the sequence? 8?

6 or 7 wrong will not be a 27, def higher than that, my guess is a 29 or 30. typically 15 wrong is a 27 (at least in the book, “THE REAL ACT”
