October 2010 CR SAT Thread

I’m pretty sure it was comparison

Why was eclectic better than assiduous?

What were other choices for the illicit one?

Can someone please confirm if “LESS ORNATE” and “WAS NOT UNIQUE” were the same answer??? I chose “was not unique” but do not remember it containing "less ornate…

Anyone remember an answer with “nominative” for the extinction passage?

Yeah the answer was conviction, it was not experimental.

I still think that the answer is “probably not, because lack of documentation”
this is the definition of plausible:
[Plausible - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary](http://www.merriam-webster.com/netdict/plausible)

so it appears true, but it probably did not happen. I may be wrong on this, because there are different definitions for plausible in different dictionaries…

“You can lose your country but you will never lose your education” was a conviction. It was one of the short passages.

It wasn’t conviction… His mother was reluctantly conceding the importance. She was not suer enthusiastic, he needed to work to get his point across.

Same jollyb, I chose the one that said less ornate but did not remember was not unique being part of the answer. :P

***? I don’t remember putting conviction or concession. What were the other choices?

Crzygmer is right. The quote was at the beginning of the passage before the conceding part.

Was the short passage one about the mother/daughter and education NOT experimental?

Just my two cents on the undesirable vs inevitable question: If it was inevitable, would the author have spent an entire passage talking about it and how/why we can/should fight it? I have no idea whether or not I got it right, that just seems like a logical approach for me.

& nooblet, you have a good point. Honestly, I think it could go either way, and I’m kind of angry at the collegeboard for making such an ambiguous question. I mean REALLY. :P

Is conceding/rebuttle confirmed?

yeah, I agree

Does anyone remember an answer with “she was not unique” for the people question with the author*???*

Was the short passage one about the mother/daughter and education NOT experimental?
^It was NOT experimental. I had experimental writing and I had this passage.

Yes

10chars

the one about the antidote vs stimulant, is stimulant. b/c an antidote is supposed to permanently alleviate your pain but the passage insinuates that he has to keep on coming back, which makes it a stimulant becuase a stimulant temporarily catalyses or improves somehting , in this case it stimulates him to be happy. tell me if i am wrong or thought too deep

i remember putting copious as an answer and being fairly certain of it. and definitely didn’t put unremitting can anyone confirm they were in the same question?

Please… Someone! Tell me the other answer choices to the question with “illicit”
