October 2010 CR SAT Thread

It definitely said artfully written

can anyone confirm “imbalance of power” over questioning “national pride” for the short paragraph from the trojan war passage?

Dam I put the dancer who danced with technical brilliance but no emotion. My first hunch was the artful biography with factual errors, man i hope the curve on this test is forgiving…

it said artistic

There was one about that Rose chick and her daughter, and the answer choices were like…

Adopts.
Undertakes.
Whatever. I forgot what I put :/

what was the question for the disagreeing/objectivity question?

Can anyone confirm an answer choice that said “both authors took POSITIONS on a possible…”. Because i believe this is the last question that we are missing for the rewilding passage.

I thought it was national pride…

@user That’s what I got. Both authors took positions on a possible plan of action.

the first portion of the paragraph was pretty much saying that it was imbalance of power, but then the last sentence was clearly questioning national pride vs fear. so, maybe it was national pride because it was the only real bit of analysis and not just (possibly) factual recall. or maybe it was imbalance of power because it was the majority of the paragraph? who knows

I’m sorry – on these consolidated lists, why is “Decorum” listed twice???

I’m pretty sure it was imbalance of power.

probably did occur because there was no evidence against it???
There is no way this is an answer. no chance. if this is true, then in the eyes of the collegeboard, then unicorns existed because there was no evidence to the contrary?

Can someone tell me the question for the disagreeing/objectivity answers in the movie critic passage?

awdrygj, it was probably imbalance of power, because it was saying how the lower classes didnt want to fight but fear was used as a weapon against them by the higher classes.

@boston
I hope so…

@jetscm4ev
i figured it was that it probably didnt occur, because there is no historical documentation

it said according to the passage, and the authors intent was clearly to raise the question (with a negative connotation) of whether or not the war happened
lol collegeboard

again i ask, why is it that these consolidated lists have decorum listed twice??? please edit this to eliminate confusion.

But it’s asking for the author’s conclusion, not the actual conclusion. I agree with you though on the unicorn bit though. The probably/no evidence answer is correct, but it’s kinda illogical at the same time. I thought the same thing as you when I bubbled in my answer.

@light airen and awdrgyl
I have been advocating that the correct answer is indeed national pride because the latter half of the other plausible answer choice, the imbalance of power, states a distortion of the facts presented in the section “at the expense of others”
the excerpt does NOT indicate whether the weaker nations benefited or were taken advantage of

Artful, artistic… WOW how could i have missed it? I am so upset

If “Both authors took positions on a possible plan of action” and “different” are confirmed as answers, then we are missing 1 sentence completion question, 1 question (if we add “comparison” back onto the consolidated list) from the jump rope passage, and 1 question from the movie critic passage.
