October 2010 - International SAT

the chimpanzee one? Nope, as I had that question + 4 CRs, so…

28 of the writing section had to do with historians or something???

Oh really? I thought we had established that the writing section 8 was experimental. Guess not…

Last writing section a question on entertainment:

From cartoons to documentaries…something for everyone.

Was the answer:
Documentaries; something for everyone
or
documentaries, there is something for everyone

I wrote that while I though adapting was important, retaining individuality was also possible and furthermore, necessary for one’s happiness.
Or something like that.
2 examples. One personal, one from book.

butbut…I used taftology…or how’s that in english. When you repeat the same word/phrase many times. >.<
By the time I started proofreading, the time was up so I couldn’t correct it.

In this historians questios he/she was the error

Similary in one question Jane & I was the error

documentaries, there is something for everyone
I think.

In this historians questios he/she was the error

Similarly in one question Jane & I was the error

yes jane and I was the error and documentaries, there is something for everyone is correct.

gregbob, Minhas, Eva
How much do you expect?

How many mistakes can you make and still get a 750+ in CR?

I defended adaptation, but half way through the essay I had a change of heart. But it was already too late to change my position so I blabbed on even though I no longer believed in it. My examples were mediocre. I chose nomadic tribes in pre-classical india who adopted the language and thus, adapted to the existing culture as my historical example, mr darcy as my lit example (how once he lost that holier-than-thou attitude and accepted his surrounding aka lizzie’s family and changed his ways he was able to fully enjoy life), and the united states as my third (something about how in a society with so many different backgrounds, nationalities it’s important to be respectful of differences and change and bla blah I don’t even remember, I was so frustrated with myself at that point). Ughhh. Frustration.

Well you never know what to expect with the SAT so im not saying anything.
I don’t want to get my hopes up right now. I’ll just wait for the 28th!

In this historians questios he/she was the error

Similary in one question Jane & I was the error

Yes on both. He/she was supposed to be they or something like that. Jane and me is how that other one should read.

I am not sure what to expect, quite frankly. This is my first time taking it and I didn’t have a lot of prep time so I don’t know how to accurately assess myself. What about you guys?

One of the sentence completions about Janes apartment being untidy.
Was it emulate or something.
Or something & Slovenly?

I chose Slovenly.

Same Eva. First time taking, plus I had a headache, was sleepless and felt like puking.
I think I won’t get lower than 2100 though…and not expecting higher than 2200 either, as I messed up the 10-min writing section + wrote essay badly.

I am crossing my fingers for as all. We’ll find out about the results in 2 weeks, I guess.
TOO LONG.

I felt uneasiness after the essay section as well, but i think after the first math section I felt better.

And does anyone remember the answers to that short passage about Dobian Grays love letters.

Were they overwrought, pedantic , bellicose etc

and the second question i cant remember

@ minhas ya h guys what was the apartment one???

In the computer translating passage:

Q) compared to passage 1, the author of passage 2 is:

Was it more critical towards translating programs or something like that. Option A i think
