^ Thanks, I remember now, I was so worried that I might have gotten it wrong.

wait…is it true that 1 skip would yield the same score as 1 wrong???
I thought 1 wrong would result in a lower overall score than 1 skip?
Can somebody confirm this please?

3a = 20

someone please explain this quesiton for future reference lol.

Does anyone remember that math problem which was the last grid in in one of the sections? It had exponents in it with a couple answers around 8,10,12 or something like that.

Can somebody please answer my question?

@sporty
the scores round according to conventional rules. if there were 50 questions, -1 (for omit) would yield 49. -1.25 (for incorrect answer) gives 48.75 which rounds to 49. so essentially no difference

3a = 20

someone please explain this quesiton for future reference lol.

Id also like to kno shahdin

oh wait…so are you saying that 1 skip with 1 incorrect answer…and 1 incorrect answer will result in the same final score (out of 800)?

“3a=20”

Do you mean 3a-20? I don’t think there was an answer that had 3a=20

sorry to keep asking…i’m just really mad about the 1 question i accidentally skipped lol

it had to do with polynomials. something about (x-y)^2=? . and 2xy= ?. when you simplify you get 3a-20

@sporty04

1 skip and 1 incorrect answer is 1 plus 1.25 which is 2.25 which rounds to -2

1 incorrect answer is 1.25 so it rounds to -1

what was m = 2?

What was the question and does anyone know the eq’n, etc.?

And what page is the most recent consolidated list on?

yes 3A-20, dammit all I had to do was simplfy, eh Im just gonna cancel this test.

hmm…then how is it possible for 3 wrong to be a 710… but 2 wrong with 1omit is a 720?
b/c i thought you said that 1omit and 1wrong has no difference…

cause 3 wrong is 1.25 plus 1.25 plus 1.25 which is 3.75 which rounds to -4

2 wrong plus 1 omit is 1.25 plus 1.25 plus 1 which is 3.5 which round in your favor to -3

Can someone show me how they simplified and got 3a-20

@shadin oh.

you are looking for (x+y)^2
that’s the same thing as x^2 + y^2 + 2xy
They already give you the value of x^2+y^2. they also give you xy.

xy = a - 10

(x + y)^2 = a …expand…you get x^2 + 2xy + y^2

rearrange: x^2 + y^2 + 2xy
= a + 2(a - 10)
= a + 2a - 20
= 3a - 20

Hopefully that makes sense.
