October 2011 SAT General Discussion

anybody put a vocab that had eschewing in it?

i was debating between emphatic and fatalistic…
i went with the latter

did you guys get 0 for the question where you have to subtract the slopes?

What’d you guys get for the sweater and scarf probability question? I think the question was easy but I may have over thought it. Also what was the answer to the question that said solve for k. I don’t remember the exact equation but there were 3 variables (a, k, and x) and it looked something like this 3^x=something…Lol I can’t remember. The question was on the section where you had to bubble in a custom answer. There was some exponent work involved. Any have any ideas?

EDIT: Yes I got 0 for the slope subtraction question.

fatalistic is a bit over the top, i put emphatic

But can’t the isosceles right triangle be a 3+4+5 triangle??

sweater and scarf was 20/25

alright, I put emphatic
0 for subtracting slopes
I put eschewing

the snow flake was u had to change it to they or something like that it was plural/singular disagreement problem
and then the dolls was the same problem too neither would fit in its box (something like that)

isosceles triangles has 2 equal angles/sides

I go the same thing 3600 cheers

what did you get for the 10x/101-x question?

I put 20 for sweater and scarf. 5 x 4

0 for adding of slopes in a parallelogram
I remember I put eschew for something!
9 for the 3^6x one.
20 for the paths
4/5 for the sweater/scarf

for the grid ins did anyone get 1 as the answer to the last question?

@angelsface200 isos… triangle must have at least 2 equal size sides

Does anyone remember the librarian question in writing? I couldn’t decide between “them of” and “those of”…

Are you sure about 9 is the answer to the 3^6x question?

i got -1/2 for subtracting slopes O_O

prays

The most Mondays fit in if they fall on: July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26. 9 days.

Isosceles right triangle must be 45-45-90, which means there has to be a radical 2 in there somewhere so they can’t all be integers.

VT - Oh yeah you’re right, okay good.
Manhattan - For the 10x question, I put 90%, but I wasn’t so positive…
