October 2011 SAT General Discussion

Scarfs did ask for probability which was 20/25 aka .8 or 4/5.

oh yes the answer to the 3^6x question was 9, 27^x= (ax) if i recall correctly

@Angels yep 0 is right.

I found the math sections to be rather odd… I don’t know they just weren’t like any of the ones I took before.

Anyone got the extremely easy experimental about the indian grandma in America? I was really hoping it wasn’t experimental but seems like my friend didn’t have it.

Btw what was the answer to that writing question: to be altered, or, to be altered or be changed? I put to be altered since it seemed redundant to put be changed as well.

I had writing experimental - did you guys have extraterrestrial life on planets as the writing passage or something else?

^ i had the indian grandma one @ SAT100

@sheepgetkilled haha i struggled with that and guessed “having lay”

@iamins: thanks, was considering the same thing but seemed to have gotten it wrong.

Biographer was acting as a archaeologist.

I put to be altered too.

The other options were either redundant or nonsensical.

The test was ridiculously hard, especially the math. Any thoughts, discussions of problems?

I also putxspy

@levinel it was archaeologist, not spy

One of the CR SC questions was recondite?

for the treatment one i put proposal. she was basically writing a proposal about ella bank’s life

Dammit I put but, because it didn’t seem to make much sense (while, or and would have been better).

What about the one with snowflakes? I couldn’t decide if it was plural or not.

hey guys, what was the answer to the math question in the grid in with the two circles? was it 96 pi + 32 or 96 pi + 64? and what was the answer to the one about n = k^2 and n being divisible by 10 and 24?

Yep, archaeologist

What did everyone get for the New York public library question in the last writing section?

“having lay” was wrong.

I didn’t have a passage about a grandmother so that was experimental. I had experimental math which I remember thinking was weird.

Cheers so did i
