Writing scores tend to be 1-2 weeks after the MC scores.
Given that it was a large test date and making the curve should be interesting, I don’t think we’ll see MC until about Nov. 11.

@BMEAero But I’ll still be able to see my MC scores, just without the writing on nov. 11?

yeah

What do you guys think?

too harsh

Math is too harsh

Curve a little too harsh. I didn’t find the test particularly difficult, but it was harder than some previous tests. No way only a -0 will count as a 36 for English, Math, AND Reading on that test (at least for form 74A).

The ACT is just getting harder. We shouldn’t expect generous curves

Do you guys think there is any chance that the science section will be curved like the 2013 December science was? I think it’s a possibility, and I really hope they do.

Predictions:
Math-

I might be a tad generous for math

Now that seems realistic

I don’t know how realistic it is, but I would definitely love a curve like that.

Did any of you guys get 3 of the same letter in a row on the English? Also, were there a couple English questions you guys felt had two possible answers?

I think most of us had different forms so that isn’t really something that is consistent among every test. And for the questions that were ambiguous, there are going to be questions like that on any test for any subject. The difference between a good score and a great score is choosing which answer is “better”. They may be both grammatically correct but whichever answer is more along the lines of what the narrator was trying to say is what’s generally correct.

Yes. The English was slightly harder than average so there might be a kinda lenient curve. Math was time consuming; I finished everything with only a minute to spare. There wasn’t anythingin particularly hard but time made it kind of hard so -1 should be 36 like the September ACT. Reading, I had 3 minutes left, so I felt I did decently. Science had like 3 sets of 7 questions including the conflicting viewpoints which threw me off and I had to rush the last passage so probably got a few wrong I think. I absolutely hated the writing. Only wrote 2 pages which was unusual for me and my argument wasn’t strong. So expecting an 8. Last act i got a 10.

@TheCalculator
How much did you write when you got a 10?

Math did have some time consuming questions, and the trig seemed harder than it normally is.

I wrote two pages last time and made a 10 on the writing portion. This time I wrote about the same but my essay wasn’t nearly as good.

I feel as if both curves given for the math sections are too forgiving. -8/-9 for a 30? Nahh.

Math didn’t seem too difficult, easier than September act for me (got a 35). Science on the other hand was ridiculous. I always go with 5 question passages first and not having any of those made it extremely confusing. I thought I was counting wrong. But at the end I saw there were 4 7 question passages and 2 6 question passages
