October 25, 2008 ACT Discussion- Science

I thought this science was a lot easier than normal. I'm pretty sure I nailed it, although I usually make stupid mistakes.

Anyone have an answer for the electricity one? Finding the f^14 of the chemicals in the chart?

i totally guessed on the f^14 one i think i put like 12 or 13

was methane (only) an answer?

^ I think I put.. methane and N2.. but yeah I forgot whether N2 was inorganic or not..

But science was in a different lingo.

I put methane only because passage 2 talked about how inorganic and water combine to form organic and then petroleum forms or something. But it didn't mention anything about N2 or whatever else was an option. I'm not sure though?

what did you get for the one about balancing equations. i put the last choice

yeah, it was 2NO + O2 -> 2NO2

the last one
2NO + O2 -> 2NO2 was the only balanced one

I got NO 2O2_> 2no2. I hated the science tbh.

do you remember the one about syringe I? the choices were like inc, inc, OR inc, dec, OR dec, inc OR dec, dec?

I put dec inc.

I did inc/inc. I guessed.

i put inc dec (it's talking about space between plunger and tip)

looking at the 3 pics should've got you the answer

^Initially increases, then decreases as the reaction takes place.
(The 20 mL and 40 mL combine at first to make 60 mL, but in after the reaction there are only 40 mL)

^ That ones was freaking weird. I said increase then decrease, I think.. just a guess, though.

Does anyone have a definite answer for the f^14 of the chart in the electricity section?

I did inc, inc too. Mango Man, what was your reasoning on that one?

I think I guessed. I didn't like that page at all.

I also put inc/dec. The pic was all I needed.

i don't know what you're referring to w/ the f^14? can you describe it and i can try?
