healing process, sustained tradition is right, heritage

i put part outdoors because the passage talked about the aunt had discomfort from the counterpoise of light and darkness or something.

I think that meant she didn't like the notion that evening is about going home and turning on the lights.

The beginning of the passage said she had a habit for staying in the dark.

She also described the world as a world of darkness

So I'm guessing she wanted evening to be dark, which is basically a "part of the outside world" (Choice E)

Anybody agree/disagree with this? I put E but I can't be certain -_-

so is there basically a consensus that the first aunt question is "double meaning"?

the outside world isnt necessarily dark

i don't think it's mysterious and adventure because it NEVER said anything about mystery or adventure in the passage

it DID mention however, something about the outside world so i put that

and the question was refering specifically to that last couple of sentences, how mermaid was in the shipwrecked ship or w/e

I put double meaning.

What do you mean "the outside world isn't necessarily dark"?

You mean that the sun can be out during the evening? I think that we were supposed to assume that evening was always dark. That's the way it went in the passage. No common sense allowed kind of thing.

The Aunt Sylvie one is that she wanted the inside of the house to be like the outside world. In the novel, the Aunt is a transient, and she doesn't like to stay indoors and be contained in any one place.

yay! i didn't put double meaning... i just thought the woman was weird so she pronounced it differently -____-

HAHATHATSFUNNY....

was evening double meaning or contrary personality?

I said double meaning. The passage mentioned how Sylvie viewed the evening in a different way than just darkness, so that's what I got out of it. She definitely has a strange personality, but I don't remember the wording of that answer choice. It's possible that is the correct answer though.

Can we talk about the questions & answers to the historian passage? >_>

SATmaster had it right. 'contrary personality'. However, I'm pretty sure that the asnwer was double meaning.

what was the purpose of the moon quote...

C) to show the individual contributions of a scientist on astronomy

E) something about objective having practical benefits.....i put this i think

hydralisks i agree because that one was not fun for me

OH ALSO... the sailer passage... ***

i didn't know what was about the "men in the boat" i put oblivious....

and was the passage about the "power of the sea"

and was the disadvantage that a wave was always followed by another wave... I thought that was pretty straight forward but i wasn't sure because it said "ever" wave, i wasn't sure if that was too extreme

I hope it is because that's what I put! I was just excited to actually recognize one of the passages from something I'd read.

i still stand behind contrary personality...im not 100 percent tho

for the "sounding" one wat did yall put

satmaster i put practical benefits as well

the answer for the wave after wave is.."same power after each and another" dont try to over-analyze.
