October SAT Curves?

for math, what is 1 wrong on the free response, 2 omit on m/c, and 1 wrong on m/c?

Does anyone else in here think that CR curve will be extremely generous for Oct test?

chickenboi, probably 720 or so

Explain this to me? If a large percentage get a lot wrong, you can get a higher score since it was more difficult?

curlygirl61, the curves are set before the exam is held. So, no.

Can you explain a little how it works?

math was SO MUCH EASIER, and i suck at SAT math...cr was medium, writing was super easy.

I breezed through the math except for two questions... last math I got a 680. I wonder how I did this time. What would one wrong and one omit be?

3 wrong 1 omit CR?

How exactly do they set the curves before the exam is held? lol

ok i omitted 2 for math, and got 1 wrong FOR sure. im guessing i got a total of 2-3 wrong? And i thought CR was easy and writing was easy, so i hope math has a curve

jaimeastorga2000: I got a 680 last time too, and I am wondering the same thing. I felt the math was pretty easy compared to May.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm i don't really get how math was SO easy... i mean i got an 800 the first time i took it but i don't really remember this one being easier than that one

What do you guys mean by math being "brutal," does that mean the curve is going to be GOOD or BAD?

In other words, do you guys think a -1 on MC of Math this Oct test will get a 760,770,780, or 790?

We mean that the math was EASY, therefore the curve is going to be BRUTAL, which is BAD. In other words, the math test was so easy that they are not going to be lenient on us.

awwww man :(

-1 is rarely anything but 780. i mean, i guess technically it can be anything from 770 to 800...NO WAY 760 though.

i am doubting the legitimacy of the 720 -3. thats just ridiculous.

720 -3 actually does make sense, since if they were all multiple choice questions, he would have been deducted -.75 which rounds up to -1, meaning he missed 4 from the raw score. 20 points for each raw score, and he would've had a 720.

Math: 720 (see below) I'm totally serious. It sucked

WILL YOUR SCORE CHANGE IF YOU TAKE THE TEST AGAIN? Help

Among students with your math score, 39% score higher on a second testing, 53% score lower, and 9% receive the same score. On average, a person with your score experiences a change of -8 points on a second testing.

That's really terrible. If you'd gotten a free response incorrect instead of a multiple choice, chances are you would've had a 740.
