The latest Admission Update that I received from Tech (I am a counselor), said the following:
"This year we exceeded our yield projections overall for the class (however, with anticipated melt will be bringing in a class size on target). I know that you may be working with anxious students who are trying to make a decision. While we are not officially closing our waitlist at this point, if you are communicating with a family or student who is considering Tech, it is best to let them know that offers from the waitlist will be minimal.
Once we officially close our waitlist and “call our class” we will provide you more details about the demographics, statistics, and points of pride within #gt21!"
I know some of you who post here are on the waitlist and I wanted to share this recent information. With exceeded yield projections, it is highly unlikely that Tech will be going to the waitlist at the same rate as in the past and it sounds like they may not go to it at all. I know this information may be disappointing to some of you, but I am sure you have been accepted to a college where you will succeed and be happy.
