a semicolon by definition works the same way as does the conjunction and. and both sentences were complete sentences not fragments. and the SAT Writing is more likely to test on semicolons usage than they would on colon usage when the only plausible use is for lists.

Crazy test :|
essay : i disagreed and used biological engineering and genetic engineering to describe artistic influence in science. insane weird topic..
mc : incredibly easy improving sentences/paragraphs -- a lot of very difficult error sentences that i'm sure i bombed.

i think i may be the only person to have agreed

i talked about politics (which is my passion lol) and how governments look at science differently- ie more jobs, economic power, and arts- no real quantitative impact, more idealistic (tolerance, creativity, exploration)

i also talked how art and science were uniquely different and gave examples of specific art periods.

however, by the same token you could also talk how art and science are similar just look at classical proportions, de Stijl during modern art, pieces commissioned during the Enlightenment- one that comes to mind is the famous Orney piece. it depends on what art period you focus on- for example Pollock was not ordered or scientifc but totally random, same with various artists from Cezanne onwards

in the essay i like mentioned how all art leads a basis for life. likw how peoiple first drew men who could fly and then the aieroplane was invented. like art is a thought and science is that thought turned into reality.
So what do you think of the way i approached the essay

i have no idea for the rest of the writing stuuf. its like a haze. i remember nothing.

Wow, someone else besides me used Brave New World!! Woohoo.... Anybody else us 1984?

Did anyone else mark a lot of Ds in the MC?

oh thank God! Yes, I had many Ds - 11 out of the first 25. It evened out a bit but more Ds than any other choice overall. I also had 3 Es in the first 20.

I also had 3 Es in the first 20. Anyone else had 3 Es

I think I had something like that. There were few As and Cs...that I can recall. Like I said, there seemed to be a lot of Ds.

I did. I remember thinking..."whoa, 3Es and 2Es..."- the first 20 and the last 10. I prolly would not trust my word...I seriously suck at Writing...prolly bombed it. :(

i got 11 E's, and about 8 A's or something like that...

i also got a TON of D's...

I really couldnt think of anything to write for the topic so I just wrote an essay that didnt pertain to the topic. Has anyone ever done this or know what will happen?

part of it is really understanding the question. The other part is proper writing.

i also had TONS of D's i started freaking out and going crazy toward the middle i had more E's for some reason (paragraph questions)

Try not to look at the letters, that will mess you up and you will tend to lean towards the ones that you are lacking...

I thougth essay was gay.. but wrote about the roman empire, how they integrated the art and the science. REnaiisance, Leodardo Davinci, ended with Eiffel Tower

Same here. I had about 10 minutes at the end of the test so I went back over as many questions as I could to make sure they were supposed to be a D. I thought the essay topic was easy, but then, I wrote something related to it in my application essay.

What was the essay topic?

I can't believe I forgot to write it in paragraph form. I pretty much wrote it in one long paragraph. D***!

OMG WAIT, i remember the essay question asked "to what extent do you agree?" Is it okay if we wrote that we just agree? cuz that's what i wrote... ahhh I didn't write to what extent I agreed!!!!
