Offical SAT II Writing Thread

i actually agreed, but only to a small degree.....my last paragrpah has a huge error....one sentance....i cant remember the exact wording, but i kinda said the opposite, then the same thing over again....(if it does not make sense...sorry. it doesn't make sense to me either...)

I thought the essay topic was easy, but then, I also wrote about something similar in my application essay.

does any one remember questions and answers to the test?

For my essay I used Da Vinci and how he incorporated scientific and artistic elements in his paintings and drawings. I really couldnt think of anything else and I felt this essay question was a bit more specific than other essay questions. What do you guys think?

It was more specific. Did you specify to what extend you agree or did you just explain why you agreed?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just related the entire essay to music, and how it incorporates science and art.

I actually disagreed with the quote, which i think is ok.

What did you say? Just for a different perspective...

I think most of us did.

there was this question on the father's ability to listen...about how he improves his rlationship with the mom...is it "subsequently/therefore"?(can't remember exactly...what did u guys put??
And for the same passage, the unnecessary line is line 12 right?? the one about choosing friends?? i'm going crazy just thinkin about the questions...think its gonna be a big screwup for me..

Line 12-That's what I put.

for the relationship with mom one, I remember putting no change.

line 12, yep

athlonmj, do u still remember how does the "no change" sentence read?

And the passage on the islanders...anybody can recall any question?? i found that part pretty tough...maybe its because I was running shorta time...

no, I do remember however that during those passage questions, I had 2 of them as no change which I found were odd.

I remember the question about the english vocabulary with the islanders, it was to add "also" after like the 2nd word or something. Another question was about how they still remembered all those words, I think I put to use "therefore" but I don't remember it exactly.

Oh...i think the "also" was it to modify and join the two sentences about how the language is preserved and how the language influences American english?? not too sure myself...i remember having one "no change" for the father passage....

what was the last question for the islanders passage? somehow, that particular quesiton is bugging me...

Oh! I put that the person used repetition and similar sentance structure...is that what you're talking about?

Yes starynight5!! THats the one...thanks alot!!! It's comforting to know at least I have one more correct...

Assuming that's right.... ;)

is sentence 12 the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph in the passage about the father ?

what was the answer to..somethin bout civil rights movement hasnt happen in the longest lala..blah blah oo yeh protest for black ppl and civil rights etc..what was the answer for that?
