Every one who was one of the 900 selected to take the national exam got the certificate

Anyone know when part II and III problems and solutions come out?

Top 150 out in less than 2 weeks…

does anybody know if the magic “43 correct” on MC always guarantee top 150 place? Does anybody have stats similar to the excellent 2010 data shared by Sophia7X for other years?

^^ Where did you get the magic 43 number? That’s really interesting, and I’ve never heard of it, so I’m just curious as to where you found out.

It was in a PowerPoint I had previously posted: [ChemO.ppt - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download](http://www.4shared.com/office/yeRoZHEi/ChemO.html?)

These are the stats for 2010, skip to around slide 10 or so.

Do you think the average score for making honors will be lower this year?

@nuke
it is best to assume the average will stay ~ the same.

some find the test harder this year, some may find it easier.

Got Honors!! Yayy I’m pretty happy with that; I still have a couple more years to make camp

I got honors too.
Perhaps the best possible outcome since I screwed up the lab, lol. (I’m the slowest titrator ever).

got honors! somewhat luckily as i just recently found out i made some dumb mistakes…

pretty sure the cutoff was around 43 again (got 44 or 45).

just next year for another go

I got a 49, I wonder what the cut off was for high honors.

And I made 7 stupid mistakes lol. :(

Lol i made high honors with a 48.

Whoa, high honours!

Pleasantly surprised, probably high 40s MC. Utterly failed the labs. I think FRQs brought me up :).

same here. I thought my mc score was too low but FR saved me

only 5 out of top 150 on CC?

The ACS website kills my internet connection, could someone please do a copy/paste of honors/high honors?

Thanks.

@crazymomster

uploaded the file here: http://www.filedropper.com/cnbp029927honors2012

I made honors as well - exactly what I expected!

Which is a better book to use for the chemisty olympiad - Zhumdhal or Atkins?

Zumdahl is solid for AP level, and if you understand/read most of it, you should be able to get anywhere from top 150 nationals to top 20. But I recommend Atkins since it is much more advanced and in reality if you want to try for camp, then Atkins would help much more.
