I got 6 and 41 wrong…

I forgot that tin was more reactive than copper. Should’ve remembered those tin chloride solutions for tinplating PCB’s…

6 was the calcium/phosphate question.

My section hasn’t given results out yet, but it looks like I got about a 55/60! So I’m pretty happy, cuz im just in first-year/honors chem, next year in AP chem I should do even better!

juiceBoxEnjoyer, thanks for the info. And congratulations for your 60/60. Looks like the cutoff score in our region might be higher than I hoped. I hope it would be 56 or 57.

Does anyone know what score is generally needed to get top 150?

Top 150: mean = 44.7

Free response top 80 (excluding top 20) = 70%
130-150: 50%

Sophia7x, where are you getting your data from?

I made the National Exam
Sooo happy. Any tips on how to study for the national exam?

Does anyone in NJ/Trenton area have gotten their scores? Thanks.

I actually live in NJ, but I registered under the NYC ACS section since I go to school there. Yes, I did get my scores, but this isn’t the answer you’re looking for :)

@chem4321 My teacher emailed the local chem O coordinator

is the summer camp in CO? are finalist notifications made prior to public announcement? is it top 20?

Here’s a useful link with all the details.
<a href=“American Chemical Society”>American Chemical Society;

It’s the coordinator’s handbook I found online on the ACS website.

The camp is at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The top 20 are selected to go. I think finalist notifications are made first, because students only have 24 hours to decline or accept.

how does the state exam work for VA? what test and what accuracy approx?

Does anybody know historic cutoffs for High Honors and Honors? Thanks.

AIME15–I’m not sure about historic cutoffs, but Sophia7X’s posts on page 6 are helpful. We can probably assume that the cutoff for honors is around the upper 30’s/low 40’s (Multiple choice) from that post. Don’t know about the FRQ.

Is anyone taking the test tomorrow?

I’m taking it on Sunday.

I’m taking it on Sunday as well.

Taking it on Saturday. Somehow I managed to get the high score in the region on the local exam. :P

Saturday for me too.

Darn it…got third highest at school, lost to both seniors who had qualified last year. funny thing is turns out they can’t take the national exam…only I cant take it either apparently, even though my score was above cutoff but due to 2 max per HS…bah…

good luck to those taking it this weekend
