**OFFICIAL** 2013-2014 AP Biology Thread

@Mdf730‌ I honestly wouldn’t know what you need to learn. The old curriculum was full of details. Throw all those out. The new looks like very basic biology concepts, but the questions were…strange. Just look over some released college board questions (like the 2013 test and the questions in CB’s Bio Curriculum PDF on their website). Take a look at their FRQ’s and just familiarize yourself with their style of questions.

Good luck! Learn from our mistakes lol.

@Mdf730‌

there were several changes in the new curriculum. apparently, you only need to know the nervous, immune, and endocrine system out of all of the systems. furthermore, only know the very basics of the phyla, and apparently no plant structure. i read that directly off a CB course handout thing, but take this info as it is. There was none of that on the regular exam this year, though

did anyone take bio late today? form A?

Yeah, I took that one today. Form A, yupp

Same. You guys down for a doc?

anyone take the late exam?

I took form A today. That first frq was fricken hard and so was number 5

Yeahh that first one screwed me over… what was # 5 again?

I took it today too. I’m hoping I got half credit on the first FRQ, but the rest were pretty easy and the MC were really straight forward. Anyone know what the curve is usually like?

Am I the only person who thought the multiple choice was hard? There were so many interpretation passages and the time given was just enough for me to finish and skim over answers.

Does anyone know about how the curve works? Are the makeups curved the same as regular exams? Any predictions?

Yeah I wanna know abt the curve too… someone told me that college board is gonna make the curve more in our favor ( like a higher percentage of ppl will get 5s) since last year only 5% did. I don’t know how true this is though…

@NightFairy‌ I don’t think that the curve will be that much different from last year, since this is their new gold standard. This will probably make students work harder at getting a 5. <a href=“AP Biology Exam Data 2013 – Mr. Chinn's Site”>http://galileoweb.org/chinnc/ap-biology-08-09/ap-biology-exam-data-2013/</a> (Read the reflection part)

Does anyone know how to get the details of the AP bio exam (ie. raw score cut off points)?

The curve is ■■■■ again.

Only 6.5% of the test takers got a 5

Where did you get this info. share please!

@Martin18 I found it on Trevor Packer’s Twitter page, who is the head of AP. https://twitter.com/AP_Trevor</a></p>

Does anybody know where I could find the discussion thing that CB sent to teachers? I know a website showed the 2013 details for it, but hasn’t updated it for the 2014 one. I don’t get why they dont just give it out to students too

This test was suspiciously easy. I have a dreadful feeling that the curve isn’t going to be very favorable.

@icequeenforever 6.5% of people got 5’s
