@testbulk what other schools have you gotten into?

D was accepted but apparently didn’t qualify for any scholarship money. Very surprised, her stats were very comparable, almost identical to others posted on the Bentley threads.

Not going to worry, D has decided she prefers an urban school, coupled with the cost, Bentley is out of consideration.

Trustee Scholar stats:
GPA 4.75 waited, 4.0 uw

I also received the 1/3 President’s scholarship. Congratulations to all those accepted!

Accepted! I also got a 1/2 tuition President’s Scholarship, which amounts to around $80,000 for all 4 years.

SAT: 2230
GPA: 3.54 W
Many clubs, 5 APs, lots of volunteer hours

Anyone get financial aid in the mail yet? I got my official acceptance via mail today, but didn’t have aid with it!

I am a transfer student and I have yet to hear from Bentley… Should I be concerned? When should I expect to hear from them?

Just got financial aid. Ouch. I first thought I got 21k per year in addition to my 1/3 scholarship. But no.

Turns out they gave me $8k, $6k of which I have to pay back. Coming from a family that makes NEGATIVE $3,000 a year? Thanks, Bentley. At least I got a free T Shirt.

Archite: Sorry to hear the FA awarded to you was inadequate. Did you receive your FA notice via mail or online?

Just through mail.

–
Edit: I just checked and mine is online as well.

so are you saying that the $8k was not a grant, only 2k was? Just wondering…was the rest a loan and /or work study?

I and my wife are the parents of is a freshman at Bentley. For those applying or accepted you will find the University was re ranked at number 20 or undergrad business schools in Business Week. More than that, I also wanted to relate to you that we have had nothing but positive experiences, support and responsiveness from every level of Bentley staff and professors from the time he was admitted, registered, and most recently applied for and was accepted to the Honors program. He was not accepted to the Honors program on admission but made the President’s list last semester. In particular professors went out of their way to write him recommendations over the winter break for the Honors program. The registrar answered e mails and assisted with information surprisingly even on weekends. Every time we see and speak with him about the University, his friends, classes and faculty, we do not think he could sing Bentley’s praises any louder. He did receive a 1/3 scholarship toward tuition to offset the cost. For all of you considering it, I believe it to be a fabulous choice if you are at all interested in business or any studies even related to business matters.

Did your son appeal to get into honors last year during addmission?

*admission

No we did not appeal. Per the Bentley web site and the way the program works they accept about 8-10% of the incoming class on admission. Those not invited when accepted can apply for the program if their grades are high enough. He had high grades, obtained the necessary recommendations and submitted the materials they requested after freshman fall semester. He was accepted into the program. Frankly all of the classes at Bentley are small and the professors have been excellent but he was motivated to be in the honors program.

Thanks for replying. Did your son get half tuition presidential?
It’s interesting that when I tell any fathers that my d is considering Bentley they all have flattering things to say about graduates that they have encountered. Is your son doing an internship this summer?

He received a 1/3 presidential . Internship are very hard for graduating HS seniors and college fresh/soph. Last year he was lucky to intern at a very large international insurance company . That was a great office experience and watched and learned alot. He contributed what he could scanning, organizing etc. This summer he has a full time job working for a hotel group. If you search the net for jobs, you will find the bulk of them want Juniors or Seniors for any real high paying internships. Regardless, we too have run into many people all of whom have nothing but good things to say about Bentley and how well prepared their students are
